My own experience with acupuncture began in 2007 when I decided to use the open option on my insurance to see a specialist of my choosing. I wanted to use my benefit for acupuncture and called Center Point Healing. When Elizabeth answered the phone, I connected with her right away. She sounded so nice that I knew she was the specialist I wanted to see. I could not know then that I would be working as her office manager, but the universe has a way of leading us to where we need to be, and I love my work here at CPH.
Several years ago I developed an interest in massage therapy, and it was through learning about massage that I first discovered acupuncture. I knew that I wanted to do something in the healing arts, and my connection with Elizabeth spurred an interest in attending Tai Sophia Institute where in 2009 I began study in the Applied Healing Arts Program in which students learn how to become the “needle” and to use their own energy to help others to heal. Upon completing that program, I received a certificate in Creative Leadership.
Although I completed the Applied Healing Arts Program, there was still so much more I wanted to learn. In 2010, I entered the certificate program for Herbal Studies, and I am currently enrolled in the certificate program for Wellness Coaching which I will complete at the end of this year.
Up until the point that I began attending Tai Sophia, I worked primarily as a professional administrative assistant. Working as the office manager and patient educator here at CPH has given me the opportunity to contribute to the good work Elizabeth is doing while being furthered along my own path. One of the things I most love about my work is that I get to meet all kinds of people. I love getting to know them and hearing their stories. It’s also a real joy to see the healing they experience when they come here.
My ultimate goal is to become a wellness coach, and I am grateful for the excellent training I have received at Tai Sophia and here at CPH. I also have a background in fine art and still enjoy painting, but what I most enjoy when I’m not at work is spending time with my beautiful 11 month old son.
